Delhi is ready to celebrate Green Diwali this Year

Diwali is one of the most popular festival in india. It marks the homecoming of Lord Rama after 14 years from exile. Diwali is the season of celebration. It is beautiful festival of light because it illuminates our lives with joy. It also symbolizes the triumph of Good over Evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. But Nowadays, it is celebrated by bursting of loud and bright firecrackers. Every year during Diwali, the pollution in the country shoots up to dangerous level with an increase in the air and noise pollution.

A favor to the environment by celebrating a clean and green Diwali.

According to Supreme Court, only ‘green’ crackers can be used for celebrating this Diwali (no online sale) and it would strictly be from 8pm tO 10 pm.
In its order, the court banned the online sale of firecrackers. The court ordered that – only “low polluting” green crackers (which are within permitted decibel limits and emission norms) are allowed. It also imposed timing restrictions on burning low polluting crackers on this Diwali. The court said that peoples are allowed to burn crackers 8pm to 10 pm on Diwali. During New Year and Christmas, the timing is from 11:45 pm to 12:15 am.
After water free Holi and eco friendly Ganesha, many are calling for a green diwali to celebrate the festival with minimum pollution to the environment.

There’s really nothing good about crackers, they are loud, dangerous and also cause noise & air pollution. Keeping that in mind, and its bad impact on the environment, the Supreme Court has ordered a ban on the sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR.

There’s nothing more charming than the good-old oil colorful diyas. We can re-place the electric lights with traditional diyas this year. In this way, you not only save the environment but also your + others health. You will also be supporting local artisans who make these lovely diyas.

Try to choose organic colors

This time, try to choose organic colors over chemical ones for making beautiful rangoli. You can even create one using flowers and leaves.
Diwali can be a very frightening and disturbing time for pets. You could request your neighbors not use heavy crackers for the sake of the pets in your area. we can take them for a walk in the day before the festivities start. You must never harm them by any means.

A lot of waste is usually generated during Diwali, you can dispose them to maintain eco friendly nature. Make an effort by segregating the waste into wet and dry, and then recycling/reusing them.
